March 24, 2021This is a fantastic afternoon or morning activity for the whole family or a group of friends. You could even go on your own, if you fancied some peace and... read more quiet! I took my two daughters who are both 10 years old, to spend the afternoon at Studio Ceramics. We have been to other ceramic workshops in Bali but this is by far the best one. It is such a beautiful, comfortable and relaxing space, with full AC, lovely relaxing music, coffee/tea and snacks and brilliant Teachers. We started off by learning how to throw some pots on the wheel which was so much fun and very therapeutic. The teachers were both extremely helpful and patient. They have around 5 pottery wheels at the studio so there's no need to take it in turns. After that we were able to try our hands at decorating some pre-made pieces. You can choose between, plates, bowls, tea cups ... and they have a few different techniques to try out. Altogether we spent around 3-4 hours at Studio Ceramic but we were having so much fun it felt like we'd only been there a few minutes. My kids did NOT want to leave and I literally had to drag them out! I highly recommend Studio Ceramic.

A variety of options exist, we chose to do it all. Basic wheel throwing (make a bowl or plate) and work on the decoration of an already prepared piece.
The team at Studio Ceramic are helpful, patient and relaxed. Some of my family were naturally skilled, whereas I have a handful of thumbs. It didn’t matter. We managed to pull a number of pieces. Included in our package was about 4 hours of tuition and 2 pieces each, more if you wanted to pay extra. At about $80 per person it was excellent value for the time and quality of time the experience delivered. Would absolutely do it again.
